The XIV Rústic Festa will fill the core of Castelló on Saturday 19 August

The day before, on August 18, the Latin Jazz Night will be held in this medieval village in the municipality of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, which is recovering.
 
On Saturday, August 19, in Castelló, an almost uninhabited center of the municipality of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, will take place the fourteenth edition of the Rústic Festa. The Association Masia de Castelló, which organizes this event with the sponsorship of the Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant Town Hall and the collaboration of different local entities and companies, has scheduled for this day various activities, aimed at the public family.

These events will begin at six in the afternoon and last until dawn. For the little ones, there will be traditional games, children's shows and workshops (painting faces, making baskets and bags of smell, pony walking). Also in children's hours, of late-night, will be offered the Meeting of children's accordionists.

And for the evening, more for the adult audience, the traditional open-air dinner, the Accordionists Meeting, is planned with the participation of Accordionists of the Pyrenees; The concert of the group of "folk-heated" Roba Estesa; The performance of DJ Ceba and chillout area with cocktails.

Tickets cost 8 euros for adults; And 3 euros for children from 6 to 14 years (for children under 6 years of age, admission is free). If purchased in advance (through the website www.masiacastello.cat), include a drink.

On August 18, Latin Jazz Night
On Friday, August 18, one day before the XIV Rustic, the Masia de Castelló will host the Latin Jazz Night. As part of this cultural event, the pianist and composer Jordi Barceló, son of Vandellòs, will perform from 22h. The guitarist Manuel Alonso and the percussionist Pablo Gómez. In addition, the song "Castelló de Montaña" will be recovered, which will be interpreted by its author, Enric Farnós, "the Hospital of the Infant", accompanied by a set of choral voices and by Jordi Barceló on piano. This is a song from the forties, much remembered by the neighbors, so that it was sung in the celebrations and radio stations of that time.

The money collected with the tickets (that have a price of 6 euros, or 10 euros, in the case of subscriptions for the Night of Latin Jazz and the Rústic Festa) will be used for the rehabilitation of the house of Cal Santo de Castelló .

Like the Rústic Festa, this event is organized by the Masia de Castelló Association, with the sponsorship of the Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant Town Hall; And the collaboration of various local entities and companies.

Castelló

Castelló is a medieval village in the municipality of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, nestled between mountains, which was left uninhabited in the middle of the 20th century. Its physical decay was stopped when in 1997 the Association Masia de Castelló was constituted and organized its first living manger.

Step by step  Castelló, has recovered streets, walls, eras, houses and some roof, then half in ruins and hidden under the vegetation. But he has not only recovered his physical appearance, but also, every Christmas and every summer, his life, that he had had at the beginning of the last century, when there were about 120 people.
