Three beaches in Vandellòs and Hospitalet de l’Infant already have the 2020 Blue Flag: Arenal, Punta del Riu and Torn. These beaches and the marina of Hospitalet de l'Infant have once again obtained this badge awarded by an international tribunal of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), in collaboration with the Association of Environmental Education and the Consumer (ADEAC), which manages the campaign in Spain.

The official raising of the Blue Flag on the beaches took place today, Friday, July 10, at Platja del Torn; and was given by the Mayor, Alfons Garcia; and the Councilor for Tourism, María José Gómez, accompanied by several municipal representatives.

This award, recognized internationally, values and rewards environmental management and safety, facilities and the optimal provision of services and environmental information and education. It also demands excellent water quality on the beaches and excellent environmental management in the ports.

For this reason, the Councilor for Tourism, María José Gómez, has expressed her satisfaction that the municipality has managed to renew the three blue flags of the beaches and the marina, “taking into account the increasingly selective criteria and the effects of the storm Gloria ”. "The challenge is to keep them this summer, respecting the criteria of the Blue Flag and the official rules relating to the Covid-19. We must keep in mind that the Blue Flag is an incentive for social and environmental improvements and that it benefits the local economy ", said the councilor herself.
