2nd participatory workshop on the future of the town of Castelló

The Associació Masia de Castelló has organized the second participatory workshop entitled "How do you want Castelló to be?" For next Saturday, November 25, at 7:00 pm, at Ca la Torre de Vandellòs, with the support of the City Council of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant and of the Faculty of Tourism and Geography of the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona.

This workshop will serve to present and share the proposals that were collected in the first participatory workshop on the future of Castelló, which took place on October 28. Like the previous one, it is addressed to the residents of this medieval town of the municipality, which was uninhabited in the middle of the 20th century and which began to recover in 1997, when the Association was established; and also to the members of this local entity and to all the people who are interested in taking part.

The idea is that all the participants debate the proposals collected on how the nucleus should be treated, the public space and its environment; what uses could be given; what to do with the houses ceded and not assigned to the association; what equipment and services would be necessary to develop, etc.

The results of both participatory workshops and the subsequent report that will be elaborated will serve as the basis for writing a special plan in the future that defines the uses and actions to be carried out in this town. The preparation of this report, which is expected to be completed next January, will be carried out thanks to an educational cooperation agreement signed by the City Council of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant and the Faculty of Tourism and Geography of the Rovira i Virgili University (URV).
