The Almadrava beach has obtained the 2017 Ecoplayas Flag

The other three beaches of Vandellòs and l'Hospitalet de l'Infant have managed to renew this distinctive of environmental quality

The Almadrava beach has obtained the 2017 Ecoplayas Flag, an award granted by the Technical Association for Waste and Environmental Management (ATEGRUS) and which distinguishes the beaches that stand out for their environmental quality policy.

The jury of these awards assesses a series of objective criteria regarding equipment and maintenance, always from the perspective of engineering and sustainability. Of this beach of the municipality of Vandellòs and l'Hospitalet de l'Infant has valued especially the fact that it has two green points to separate the 5 fractions, with a daily collection during the bathing season.

On the other hand, the other three beaches of the municipality (the Arenal, the Punta del Río and the Torn) have also managed to renew this recognition, thanks to their continuous commitment to improving quality. Therefore, all the beaches of Vandellòs and l'Hospitalet de l'Infant will be able to display the Ecoplayas 2017 Flag that accredits excellence.

At the award ceremony of the XII Ecoplayas Flag Awards 2017, which took place on November 10, at the Kursaal in Donostia-San Sebastián attended the mayor, Alfonso Garcia; and the Councilor for Tourism, Elida López.

The Councilor for Tourism has expressed its satisfaction with this award that has already obtained all the beaches of the municipality. "We recognize the sustainable and respectful management we make of our beaches and demonstrate its excellent quality," he said and also stressed the importance for the City Council to attend the XIX International Congress and Exhibition of Beaches - Ecoplayas 2017, within the framework of which the prizes were awarded. "In this congress there is information and presentations of the latest innovations on beaches: first aid, cleaning, furniture, management programs, etc."
