The Festa Major de Vandellòs will be held from 24 to 27 September in a reduced format

The most crowded events have been removed from the program and about fifteen activities have been organized, with security measures for the Covid-19

In honor of Sant Cosme and Sant Damià, from 24 to 27 September, Vandellòs will celebrate its Festa Major. The program of events includes less than half of the events than last year, sixteen in total, organized by the Cultural, Sports and Recreation Center of Vandellòs (CCERV) and other entities of the town (the Devils Group, the Association de Joves, the Center d'Estudis de la Vall, the Cooperativa Agrícola, the Societat de caçadors Sant Isidre and the AMPA Vall de Llorers), with the sponsorship and collaboration of the City Council of Vandellòs and L'Hospitalet de l'Infant; and adapted to the prevention measures of the Covid-19.

 With this offer of activities, we wanted to keep alive the Festa Major de Vandellòs and ensure the safety of the citizens. "We will not be able to celebrate the party in the way we would have liked it all, but at least we will make sure it does not lose its spirit, with this program of events in a smaller format, simple and aimed at all audiences," he said. the president of the CCERV, Rosa Saladié.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus and not put people at risk, this year the events that usually gather more people will not be held, such as the proclamation and the presentation of the pubilla and the damsels, the Clotxada Popular; Planted with Giants and Bigheads, the Tribute to the Old Peasantry; etc., highlighted the Councilor for Festivities, Diego García. Due to the Covid-19, also, this 2020 the main stage of the Festival will be the red track, located next to the Valdelors School; and participants must wear a mask and keep a safe distance. In addition, there will be capacity controls.

Among the events scheduled are: the monologue by comedian Xavier Deltell; the evening and evening concerts of the Swing Latino Orchestra, Roberto Vara's magic show; the performance of the txarangues Pujats de toon and Suquet Calero, the show “Viatge al món dels contes” by Trama SCCL, a social initiative and non-profit cooperative dedicated to social awareness and cultural revitalization; and children's entertainment. Also noteworthy is the correfoc offered by the Colla de Diables de Vandellòs, which the residents of the village will be able to follow on this occasion from the balconies of their house.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Lo Boc de Vandellòs, one of the festive figures in the town, members of the Colla de Diables de Vandellòs will be able to take a photo with this beast of fire on Friday 25 September, at 6 p.m. at 8pm on the football field. Another local entity that is also in luck and that also organizes the party is the Vandellòs Youth Association, which is 10 years old this year.

In addition, the Agricultural Cooperative proposes to the public to prepare a recipe for the neighbor Pau Nomen, a cooking student, for the Festa Major, with Km 0 products from local producers: a Royal-style chicken with potato and cheese parmentier. The products can be bought at the Cooperative and all purchase tickets that contain any of the Km 0 products will enter the draw for a lot valued at 30 euros. All those people who cook the proposed recipe are invited to share photos of the dish on the Instagram profile @agrobotigavandellos.
