Communication on the suspension of the 9th edition of the Local Producers Fair of Les Terres de Mestral "Fruits de la Terra"

The current situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic will not allow the 9th edition of the Terras de Mestral local product fair "Fruits de la Terra" scheduled for July 3 and 4 with prevention measures and security needed. The Mancomunitat d'Iniciatives pel Desenvolupament Integral del Territori (MIDIT) of the municipalities of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, Tivissa and Pratdip, given the extraordinary situation caused by the health crisis caused by Covid-19, makes the difficult decision to suspend this year's edition of the "Fruits de la Terra" Fair and celebrate it in 2021.

Health, safety for the population and prudence criteria are the basis of this suspension. The difficulty of holding mass events that concentrate a large number of people in public spaces, such as wine tastings, restaurants and the concerts planned, directly affect the celebration of this event.

From the organization we have to exercise a position of responsibility and prudence in these moments. Despite everything, the Commonwealth will continue to work together with the territory's agri-food and tourism sector for its development and supporting these moments of crisis in this. The promotion and dissemination of local products of proximity, restoration and territory are planned to continue with the economic activity of both sectors. It was a difficult decision to make but very thoughtful.

We will use the resources of the Commonwealth to respond to the difficult economic situation that the different economic sectors of the territory may encounter and with the common objective of local development of our municipalities.
